Written by a sailor aboard the USS W.A. Mann AP-112, in October 1947. From the letter…….we should be in Honolulu in 6 days, we will stay there a couple of days and then my sweet home at last. Boy will this guy be glad to relax for a change. I’m watch happy already, today I have the 12-4 and tomorrow the 4-8. It’s still warm as Hell here, it won’t start cooling off till we get to Pearl Harbor. I missed the movie last night as I had the watch, but I guess tonight I can see it. Well my darling, I have to eat chow and then go on watch…...
