USS Wyoming 1928
Written by a sailor who was serving about the USS Wyoming, and was writing from Hampton Roads, Virginia, in September 1928. From the letter……Have just come off of watch and as we are sailing tomorrow morning at six, I want to get off a few words in the last mail. We will be at sea until Friday at which time we return to our present anchorage…….Only two weeks before we fire short range battle practice and everyone in the gunnery department is kept on their toes all the time…….the Navy was originated for those who can have just as good a time at their best friend’s house as they can at home or in other words is somewhat indifferent about getting home when there is excitement elsewhere. I haven’t been able to adopt that attitude and hope that I never will even try. US Navy Ships WWII
